Gift Aid

Gift Aid on a masjid donation

A form you sign once can add a quarter to every gift, at no cost to you.

Gift Aid on a masjid donation

The mosque gets an extra 25p for every £1 you give, from HMRC, if it is a charity and you pay enough UK tax to cover it (GOV.UK).

Sadaqah jariyah projects, from wells to classrooms, with every pound shown. Thinking of a charity? Check your charity on DonateOpenly first.

Making it count

  1. Fill in the mosque’s Gift Aid declaration once; it covers future gifts.
  2. Give in your own name, so each gift can be matched to you.
  3. Tell the mosque if you stop paying UK tax.

Three more things to know

Cash in the box

Small cash and contactless gifts of £30 or less can earn the mosque up to £2,000 a year under the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme (GOV.UK).

Higher-rate taxpayers

You can claim back the difference through Self Assessment or your tax code (GOV.UK).

Payroll giving

Already before tax, so no Gift Aid is added on top.
